About

BIAS AND HARASSMENT IN THE WORKPLACE

The #metoo movement (not to be confused with the Me Too organization) helped victims of workplace harassment to collectively shed light on their experiences. While bias and harassment in the workplace are not new phenomena, both have received needed attention as large corporations and institutions, eager to live up to calls for increased diversity and retention, have tried to put more of a focus on these issues.

Action Ideas

BIAS AND HARASSMENT IN YOUR WORKPLACE

1. Ask about efforts at your workplace that address bias and/or harassment, whether reactively or proactively. Find a way to get involved. If these efforts don't exist, look for ways to start these efforts.

2. Consider how diverse and inclusive your workplace is. Look for ways to improve diversity and inclusivity. Make the case with your boss or leadership how this will lead to better business and increased retention of employees.
